Greetings. Thought I'd have a slightly more informative subject for an intro thread.
I'm a long time gamer whose played a lot of systems. I've a prefference for narrative and independents. Favourite is probably Baron Munchausen.
I'm an Aussie, which kind of ties in with my interest in anti-authoritarian criminals such as Faction Paradox, which I'm thinking of running a game about using the DWAITAS rules. Plot depends on what the character are.
I sometimes design games and websites and am studying a post-grad librarianship course.

Yes, welcome! If you want to show off your site, post a link and you'll be sure to get some good feedback. Other than that, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Cheers,

It was the Ennie that made me aware of the site :)
I'd not been looking around much, only having heard of RPOL before. I like this place better for its more Moodle-like style, combining different kinds of online contribution systems.

I don't know what Moodle is, but I think you've found yourself a gem here. The community is pretty awesome and helpful (and very active tonight :P) and it's a very useful system. Again, welcome!

Sometimes jargon names that committees come up with (and developers) have a lot to answer for :)
I'm still not that found of "Trove" for my work's service (trove.nla.gov.au)

Thank you! I've now had a bit of a look and have also created a dynamic character sheet for the DWAITAS game :)

    Meh, slow day at work.
I would like to use text areas though and that talk of arrays would be good too, for the traits.
I should do some javascript for it as well - the skills should create a subskill or "specialisation" field if they have 3 or more points in the skill. I'll have a look later :)
It wasn't as tricky as the XML character sheet - I'm always forgetting some of the trickier schema things.

    Well, I'm super impressed.

*I think people who develop a DCS should get an achievement for making such a contribution to Obsidian Portal*

You can play "mine":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/paradox-diaspora, but it's not a typical Doctor Who game. There's no Doctor (or for that matter Time Lords or running around time and space in a TARDIS).

On the other hand you can chat to the fine folks on "the DWAITAS forum":http://dwaitas.proboards.com/index.cgi, we're not all mad and some will be willing to run games more in keeping with the TV series with you too!

Mind you, I've done far too many acheivable things for Doctor Who so far - I don't think obsessiveness should be reward, Duskreign :)
I've just got the Admin rights to the "Faction wikia site":http://factionparadox.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page - which is handy as I've got 2 other wikis for Faction Paradox (a mirror of the "first homepage":http://www.curufea.com/Wikka/wikka.php?wakka=FactionWebsite for the series that died years ago, and the "Book of the War Apocrypha":http://www.curufea.com/dronid/doku.php)- plus I've recently converted and mirrored Brian Swift's sites - "Rassilon, Omega and the Other guy":http://www.curufea.com/rassilon/ and "The TARDIS Technical Index":http://www.curufea.com/tardis/. Last but not least there's "The Matrix":http://www.matrix.curufea.com/ - a Drupal of fan content submitted to the forums for DWAITAS but now with added metadata :)

Curufea, truly excellent work! I think a Time-Lordless Doctor Who would be...rather interesting. I mean, it's so often the "companion" that saves the day. It's a shame that we can't preview (To my knowledge) DCS' for other systems without having a campaign, and I'd love to see it, but I don't want to create a Dummy DWAITAS campaign :(

Also, I second Dusk's notion! ACHIEVEMENTS FOR ALL! (Well, all who contribute DCS' anyway... I was so confused when I was looking at peoples profiles, and I was seeing achievements, and I felt so left out when I had none)

Curufea: Welcome to the Portal. I've been curious about DWAITAS for a while now, so I'll have to keep an eye on your wiki. Also, way to go with the DCS! I saw you mentioned on twitter earlier today, so you're kind of OP famous, at least for a little while.

Embirsiphone: I don't know if you need to watch the episodes to enjoy the game, but I know you need to watch the episodes. If you have $20 and iTunes, you could be knee deep into the new Series within hours.

Fame is good, I hope it encourages people to use the online collaboration sites I've got set up. The Matrix in particular for DWAITAS. After 5 years I got very few people adding anything to the Hero System wiki I set up. I really should have stopped doing things for Hero ages ago - all other forums don't have narcissistic sociopaths running them :)

Ergo I do stuff for DWAITAS now - the folks running things have social skills.
