Link to OP's user Profile from forums

Maybe it's just me, but when I read posts from some users in the forums sometimes I want to check that user's campaign, and when you click on their name it shows their account information but there's no link to his/her campaign.

This is what I'm talking about:
* If you click on my nick this is what you get: "Sandman":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/account.php?u=30499
* And it would be nice to have a link there that points directly to one's Obsidan Portal profile: "Sandman - Profile":http://www.obsidianportal.com/profile/sandman

So, this is really a feature request for the forums, but I think it could help the community members get to know each other's sites.

Anyone feels the same?

Indeed, however it is not all that difficult to enter the name of someone you find in the forums into the search bar on the OP main portal.
Still this would be a convenient addition.

In general I think the OP forums need a great overhaul as it lacks many features that are standard in other community forums.

That's what I do when I'm intrigued in someone else's campaign, but to be honest it's kind of a pain in the butt.

Ok, this thread is old, but I just realized there's a really simple way to add links to *your own* campaign (or whatever you want to link to), in the forum profile.

After logging in (the forums), go to the _Account_ tab, then to _Personal Information_, and there you can _add custom infomation_. For example:

* Label: My Campaign
* Value: your campaign's url

You can check my profile to see what it looks like (just click on my name).

Even though this doesn't help when you want to check someone else's site (at least for now), it will help when other people want to check yours. If we are lucky, most people will take 2 minutes of their lives to add this info, and soon we will all be able to use forum's profiles to access each other's campaigns without having to look for it in the Search box. It's also a good way to promote your site.

Hope this helps anyone, and if you found it useful please *leave a comment* so that this thread gets bumped frequently, that way it will reach more users.

Thanks, I've been frustrated at times with the fact that the Forum names don't link back to the main site (and that person's OP page) as well. I just did the same thing and I encourage others to do the same (didn't even take 2 minutes!) ;-P

Thanks for pointing this out Sandman. I only just discovered it myself a couple of weeks ago and I'm sure that most people here probably don't know about this option. By the way, good to see you back at the forums again!

This is actually really useful and I don't think many folks are aware of it. Haven't seen any mention of it elsewhere on these forums or the suggestion threads.

Thanks for the resurrect, Basileus!! I have often wondered if people had brought this up before... I'm personally surprised it didn't make it into the Reforge list of to-dos, since I thought a uniform look cross-site was part of the benefits of the reforge.

In terms of forum signatures, like many solutions here at Obsidian Portal, I have a hack! I've been using "Texter":http://lifehacker.com/238306/lifehacker-code-texter-windows, which is a simple but fun utility. Basically, you define a string. Let's say... "opsig". Now, when I type "opsig" and hit [Enter], the following happens automatically:

All you have to do is download the program, add a hotstring (in this case, "opsig"), type what you want it to change to (in this case:

) and set your trigger. So for me, this will only happen when I hit [Enter] after typing "opsig". You can set the trigger to be [Tab] or [Space] as well. Or just have it change everything instantly!

I'm going to bump this for all the newer people. It was useful a year ago, it is still useful now.

Shame the forums still don't recognize https, only http.
