I know that currently its coded for different meanings (such as red for new page, blue for wiki link and light blue for character links.)
I have found that the character links are really light against the white and very difficult to read against some custom backgrounds. Is it possible to change the color of the links in any way?
If not I would love to see a feature some time in the future that allows the GM to change the color theme of the page.
I'm not sure. Have you tried using div tags or going through the textile help to see what can be seen? I'm not on the dev team, so I can't really be much help beyond that. Maybe some of our fantastic forumers can help! They are some classy, intelligent people who know just about every damn thing there is to know!
I have done an overhaul on my page to add the colors I want to my links. I found that its very easy if you just make a page that lists out your links with a code section just below it to copy/paste from using the tag. Here is an example of how i did my link page.
