thanks for the offer, but I will hold off for now on this idea. the filtered character page helps already and I don't want to be toying with custom java because it would require the visitor extra steps of accepting custom java.
I did have another related thought on this character side panel and a question for my main campaign (https://gaximplague.obsidianportal.com/).
Thought: On the dashboard they are shown as a player group, with each player showing the characters they control:
    image
could this be replicated on the front page without custom java? It would show all the characters and one thing that has irkt me since I started running players with multiple characters is that it only ever showed one character because there was one player, as opposed to all the characters.
Question: This player has two characters and no matter which order I assign and de-assign them, I can't get the other to show as a primary. Could this be done with tags?

Sorry again, but this wouldn't fit

    Their greatest enemy

A Warhammer RPG Version of The Mask from The Fighting Fantasy Gamebook Spellbreaker

The Mask was A Rank 3 Outlaw and within The Last 3.4 years he has become A Rank 4 Outlaw

To be exact at the time we defeated him he was within a maximum of 6.3 weeks he'd be A Rank 4 Outlaw, we just delayed by 14 months

    In total his career track is Rank 3 Smuggler-Rank 3 Thief-Rank 4 Outlaw-Rank 1 Noble

The reason that he became A Rank 1 Noble despite being A Rank 4 Outlaw is because arranged a attempt to Murder The Elector Count of Stirland, but it was never intended to succeed and he deliberately set it up so he could save the life of The Elector Count of Stirland

He/The Mask, saved the life of The Elector Count of Stirland and as a reward not only was The Mask and all of his followers given full pardons The Mask was also given The Title of Senior Baron

The reason that prior to his pardon he was A Rank 4 Outlaw is because he'd been planning this for almost 10 years, he was very close to becoming A Rank 4 Outlaw

The GM says that if everything went according to The Masks Plan then within 400 hours of him completing The Rank 3 Outlaw Career he'd become ruler of A sizeable Outlaw Domain, which would make him A Outlaw King

Truth be told he is now The ruler of A massive Outlaw Domain, which makes him The Greatest Outlaw King that ever lived

He, somehow, managed to escaped from Prison after just over 14 months inside, which means he escaped roughly 43 months

In the end we only delayed him becoming A Rank 4 Outlaw and now he is A Rank 4 Outlaw and he rules The Biggest Outlaw Domain in history

He commands a total of 2 dozen Groups of Outlaws, he also commands the loyal of a fairly large number of our enemies, he has a total of 1,142 followers and he uses them to make A force of 1 1,000 Strong Regiment, 1 100 Strong Company, 1 34 Strong Platoon and 1 8 Strong Squad

As well as which he has managed to acquire rulership of sizeable Outlaw Domain and his domains civilian population are all too scared to even think about going to the authorities

That Gigantic Outlaw Domain has since become A Very Large Barony

In his Outlaw Domain are 34 large Farms, 22 fairly large Farming Communities, 9 fairly large sized Villages, 4 small villages, 4 very large Fishing Communities, 2 Tiny Town’s and The slightly smaller then normal Fortified Tower were he lives

Roughly 2 years ago he acquired 5 very large mining communities, 5 very large logging communities, 3 fairly large Villages and 1 decent sized Farming Community, that increases the population by 1,923 and that earns him another 5,542 Gold Coins per year

He uses 76% of his total earnings to employ A Group of 384 corrupt Watchmen that consists of 312 Rank 1 Watchmen, 53 Rank 2 Watchmen, 14 Rank 3 Watchmen and 5 Rank 4 Watchmen

    And

Including the new editions The Masks Domain has a civilian population of 6,393 adult males, 4,773  adult females, 3,219 female children and 2,747 boy children

    His Army of Followers

    His 451 lesser followers

    237 Rank 1 Outlaws, 103 Rank 1 Healers, 52 Rank 1 Watchmen, 41 Rank 1 Smugglers and 18 Rank 1 Outlawed Boatmen

    His 384 corrupt Watchmen

    312 Rank 1 Watchmen, 53 Rank 2 Watchmen, 14 Rank 3 Watchmen and 5 Rank 4 Watchmen

    His 102 Greater followers

46 Rank 2 Outlaws, 23 Rank 2 Priests of Ranalds, 19 Rank 2 Wizards and 14 Regular(?) Rank 3 Outlaws that are all a lot weaker then normal

    His 101 Healers

    35 Rank 1, 15 Rank 2 and 4 Rank 3 Apothecaries, 17 Rank 1, 7 Rank 2 and 2 Rank 3 Nuns, 14 Rank 1, 5 Rank 2 and 2 Rank 3 Physicians

    His 20 lieutenants

6 Rank 3 Priests of Ranald, 4 Rank 3 Wizards, 4 Rank 3 Protagonists, 4 Rank 3 Outlaw that are both a lot stronger then normal, 1 Rank 4 Priest of Ranald and 1 Rank 4 Wizard

Those from 2 groups of enemies of ours that have joined him, but they aren't loyal to him and never will be, they're only working with him to get revenge on The Pcs

    The 40 from group 1

    11 Rank 1 Corrupt Watchmen, 8 Rank 1 Thieves, 5 Rank 1 Smugglers 5 Rank 1 Corrupt Lawyers, 4 Rank 1 Corrupt Boatmen, 2 Rank 2 Protagonists, 2 Rank 1 Outlaw, 2 Rank 1 corrupt Burghers and 1 Rank 1 Slayer

    The 44 from group 2

    30 Rank 1 Pirates, 8 Rank 1 Outlaws, 3 Rank 2 Pirates, 1 Rank 3 Pirate/always illegal version of Boatmen), 1 sentient Cyclops and 1 Rank 3 Smuggler

More info on some of his underlings

The Priest of Ranald is A actually A Priestess that's fallen in love with The Guy and she genuinely believes she can persuade him to stop all this looting, pillaging, raiding and murder

The other Priests and Priestess of Ranald are followers of the main 1 and are loyal to her, not to the mask

The Wizard is also female and she's A Childhood friend of The Mask, she didn't know he's A Outlaw, he gave her A Bit of Jewelry that he said was a gift but its actually magical and it lets him control her

The others Wizards are Apprentices, followers and subordinates of the main 1, trusted her judgement and they are also controlled by bits of magical Jewelry

    And

As for his large number of followers roughly 68% are controlled by similar bits of magical Jewelry,  roughly 29% are getting paid and the other 3% are former enemies of my groups that are working with him to get revenge on us

    Also

Despite all The Power that The Mask has he now has 14 legit Rank 3 nobles as rivals and 3 Rival Rank 4 Outlaws as Enemies

That means that he has a total of 17 Enemies that are more dangerous to him then we are, which means it’ll be at least 15 years before he can come after The Pcs

On that subject I’ll admit that all 5 of our greatest enemies have at least 6 Enemies that are more dangerous to him then we are, which means it’ll be at least 6 to 8 years before any of them come for The Pcs

Sorry again, but this wouldn't fit

    Their greatest enemy

Before Carona started a friend of mine had been doing a very long 4th edition WFRP Campaign and when Carona's all over she hopes to restart the campaign, but The Pcs Greatest Foe is very powerful, very dangerous, very influential and very rich, how can her players characters survive with A Foe as powerful as their greatest

Her players greatest foe is A Warhammer RPG Version of The Mask from The Fighting Fantasy Gamebook Spellbreaker

At the time her players first bested him he was A Rank 3 Outlaw, but that was almost 12 years ago

When sharing an Obsidian Portal link to my campaign, the link preview looks garbled.  Facebook is where I experiance it, but I'm betting this happens elsewhere.

E.g. when sharing a link to https://icewinddale-marshall.obsidianportal.com/wikis/world-building; that page has a title of "World Building | Icewind Dale | Obsidian Portal".  But the link preview isn't what I expect.

been thinking about what @thaen said regarding whether it woudl push players to do more than they usually do. thing is that few players go to their main page where they would see it. I doubt most of my players knowss these exit. usually players just go straight to whatever campaign they are playing and never see their main page after screating their profile.
I think that it would help if the badges showed outside their main page, namely next to their profile picture
when they own a character, like this:

    image
maybe change up the colors of some badges, too. Notice how some players have not even bothered to make a profile picture. it's because beyond their ingame character (on many players have only 1 or 2 active games at a time) they dont identify with their profile. showing the badges here may get the players to take a larger interest their profile beyond the game.
what might help bring players to identify more with their profile too, and also therfore more with OP activity in general, is putting these badges under their forum name like this:
    image

in other game forums like apolyton.net they have a billion badges for posting amount, posting in differnt locations, hell we couldhave badges for playing in game systems, 5e, pathfinder, whitewolf, etc. Now I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this forum is running on a differnt construciton than the main OP superstructure or something, so probably not possible

@OPAdmin  Are you reading these?  This is the epitome of frustrated users!

Saying that you've opened the support tickets and pushed it to the developers just doesn't cut it.

Give us some feedback, what happened 10 days ago? What is the current ETA? Have the developers actually started working on the issue?

We're not mushrooms, we don't like being in the dark.

As for the shiny bits, I came up with a plan for two squat metal posts to be on opposite sides of each ring (see above). These would be both functional and game-related; they're handles for turning the rings, and in-game they're magical trap generators. I drilled holes, and added a bit of hardware I picked up from my local hardware store:
I painted the caps metallic red and blue (red for fireball generators, blue for lightning generators).
And here's what it looks like with the tower in place (note the case of minis to the side - those were all the available gladiators the players could choose from):
Somewhere early in the process of dreaming up and making this beastie, I saw a video clip of "an industrial shredder":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJzG7CSYg3U&feature=related and I was impressed enough that I decided some very enthusiastic gnomish/dwarvish engineers built a monumental stone shredder under this arena. If anyone falls through a trap door in the floor they'd get turned into a cloud of fine red mist in mere seconds. Thus, the name. I swear, it had nothing at ALL to do with any Tarantino flicks or basketball venues. Honest.
I made a simple black-and-gray pattern that kinda resembled the shredder cylinders and printed 'em out on 3x5 cards, then cut them to size to represent the pits. (I did discover though that the heavy amounts of ink on those cards made them curl up; next time I'll use heavier card stock.) I wanted the trap doors to be completely random, but in early playtests we decided to streamline things a bit by pre-rolling the random trap doors. (The little red and yellow numbers on the rings were added so the GM could count spaces more easily.)
I found green glass gemstones at a local Hobby Lobby, and scooped 'em up to use as treasure chest "loot generators." (Gladiators that reach into a gem find two magic items, but they're only allowed to take one of them. The other stays in place, and a PC can't reach back into a gem until after someone else takes an item from that generator.) Rubber cement holds them in place.
And finally, I used "Bendy Walls":http://www.dark-platypus.com/product/bendy-dungeon-walls-basic/ to create the various walls throughout the arena, and again used rubber cement to temporarily glue them into place.
Here's a few shots of the finished product, being played at XenoCon a couple of years ago (with hover text descriptions):
!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/UselessTriviaMan/Grindhouse%20Photos/166031_10200123765561421_813738264_n_zpsdsctan8n.jpg(The players begin to gather. It's almost time!)!

"More photos here":http://smg.photobucket.com/user/UselessTriviaMan/library/Grindhouse%20Photos?sort=3&page=1 "and here":https://www.facebook.com/bryan.nash/media_set?set=a.10201807779300712.1369016695&type=3 if you want to see more...
Also, note that the inner ring of wall actually has two layers - entries into the center would periodically get blocked, forcing players to find alternate routes or risk standing still...
And that's the story of the house that UTM built. Next post, I'll go into the creation of 75 gladiator PCs, and how I wound up using over 2500 3x5 cards...
I've now hosted this event twice a year at local conventions ("XenoCon":http://xenocon.weebly.com/ and "Gamicon":http://www.gamicon.org/index2.php for the last three years. Players keep coming back for more, so I'm apparently doing something right... ;-)

Yeah... this has been something we've wanted for a while now. It took us a while just to figure out how Obsidian Portal is currently organizing campaigns!
That thread can be found "here.":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3617&page=1#Item_0
There is also a help ticket on searching for campaigns "here.":http://help.obsidianportal.com/discussions/problems/12375-search-for-a-campaign-functionality-post-reforge
To sum up: how campaigns are currently sorted is that if a campaign has 20 or more fans, it is then sorted by the last updated appearing first. What this means is that as of 8 months ago, all the campaigns in pages 6-15 hadn't been updated in over a month.
After all the campaigns that have 20 or more fans, _then_ we get campaigns grouped in two's by number of fans. So campaigns with 18-19 fans are before campaigns with 16-17 fans, etc. Within these groups, they are sorted by most recently updated.
This sorting can make it very difficult to find relatively new campaigns, or campaigns that don't advertise themselves but might be very good. Meagoinc started a thread a while ago for "Overlooked Campaigns":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3618&page=1#Item_0 to help sort out that issue. It might be good to bring back that thread for a bit.
So, yup! I am completely with you, and it would be really nice if we could have some way to organize and sort campaigns at _all._
