Multiple GMs for one campaign?
December 2008
I've had several windows open with my account - so I can look at one page and create another. I wouldn't advise that several people work on the same thing at once, as then they'd overwrite each other.

herf?
December 2008
You use the < a name = "blah" > to mark the location of the footnote, and then you use < a href = "#blah" > to create a hyperlink to that footnote. I'm guessing the problem is not that you're spelling it "herf" when it should be "href…

Hello from Sweden
December 2008
Aw, man, another one who started as a little kid. I am so jealous of you guys. Or maybe I'm not - if I'd had D&D as a kid, I probably wouldn't have read as many other books. =) Congratulations on having a history set up for your world. I'v…

Hello
December 2008
Hi Nous! My GM (Florimel here) is also big on having lots of settings, and he has no qualms whatsoever about dropping us into different settings in the middle of a given campaign just to reinforce that they're all connected in one big Yggdraverse…

Reavers of Ophir Adventure completed after 11 sessions
December 2008
Wow...the idea of a campaign wrapping up after 11 sessions is no longer something I can fathom. I blame my DM. He's all about the epic.

Here's the link to a page of stuff that you're allowed to do in Textile to format wiki pages: http://hobix.com/textile/quick.html Also, basic HTML is allowed EVEN IF you're using Textile to do everything else, but some attributes are not suppo…

New to Wiki, Social questions
November 2008
First, thanks! I don't have the writing chops to actually create action, so I do the next best thing by chronicling it. =) Second, I think the biggest reason for someone to create actual "characters" and "items" is so they can be found via a sea…

New to Wiki, Social questions
November 2008
Hi there! Re 1): Personally, I write HUUUGE narratives in my adventure logs, so while I won't link _every_ instance of a name or descriptor, I might link again if enough "time" has passed since the last time I did so. Also, if I ever use a sobri…

Good Evening
November 2008
Mmmmmm...now I just need to start dinking around with this demo of Everland. You've inspired me, Sillyfaerie - I'm putting together wiki pages for each particular region, and I could just embed a relevant detail of the world map.

The tables are impressive, but I'm not certain what the black lines are for. I guess one of these days I'll need to play around with CSS. =)

Good Evening
November 2008
Welcome to the Portal! It sounds like you've got a lot of stuff to archive and possibly share. If you get your players onto the site, then watch out for the RSS feed. I don't know if it really does show GM-only pages, or if my GM forgot to chec…

Updates to tagging
November 2008
I have a few tags in place right now and so far nothing weird or annoying. I wasn't really in a position to have an opinion on the old method, so I can't really compare. But rest assured I'll pipe up if I run into problems. =)

If you're running Windows, ALT+PrintScreen (it's the button above the "Insert" button on my keyboard) will capture the content of the current window. You can then open Word and Ctrl+V and it will paste that image into the Word document.

Hello from Indiana
November 2008
Welcome to the Portal! I haven't said it in a while, but I really envy those folks who were able to get into gaming at a young age. I wanted to and just never knew the right people. =)

Hee! My DM is an Andy also, and he's also been at it for decades. 'Cept he plays HERO/Champions and Amber diceless rather than D&D. Though we're both coming up with 4th-ed campaigns for the sake of learning the rules. I convinced him to ar…

November 2008
Ouch on the Firefox thing! I think I would have gotten desperate and taken screen captures and pasted THOSE into Word - I'd still have to retype, but at least I'd remember how I so brilliantly phrased it the first time. I see this happened about…

spoilerblock?
November 2008
Okay, now explain to me why one wants to keep a page size down and how this would help. I don't see where it does any good in adventure writeups - the whole point is to jot down everything, yes? The MORE tag helps keep the adventure log itself tid…

spoilerblock?
November 2008
A spoiler block, by which you mean folks could *choose* to read it or not? 'Cause the GM already has the option to keep things secret, and honestly anything that needs to be kept secret from the GM can just be stored offsite. Lord knows Vahla and …

You could also create a wiki page, copy and paste the character data, and if desired not link to it from anywhere. The new "create new page" button makes that much nicer now.

Wiki Edit Buttons
October 2008
Oh, for me, size wasn't an issue (how often do you hear girls say THAT? ;) - it was just an issue of how blindlingly obvious it was what the button did. Pencil/paper is cute, but "edit this page" is obvious, and some of my peeps need obvious. =)

Wiki Edit Buttons
October 2008
I wasn't going to say anything, but now that others have, I'll echo it. *If* it's possible. I definitely prefer the obvious "edit this page" buttons to the little pencil/paper icons, 'cause it makes it easier for me to explain things to other peop…

Hello All
October 2008

Editing NPCs
October 2008
Thanks for the insight! For our part, I've just told Rigel that if he wants to edit any of the NPCs in the Encyclopedia Yggdraversica, to let me know which ones and I'll just delete and re-create them - thus making them editable 'cause they're "you…

Just noticed that the new homepage "editability" is a go. I was a little taken aback by the new buttons all over the wiki, but it's now much easier to explain to my friends when I want them to edit stuff. =)

Withdrawing from a Campaign

Since I have both been and seen someone listed as a player in a campaign even without a PC, I'm going to guess this is currently not possible. I suspect this is motivated by the possibility that characters will die and need to be replaced - it'd be…

Table Alignment aka valign='top'
October 2008
Not all attribute tags are allowed. Just above the content field, there's usually something saying "Textile formatting and _some HTML_ is allowed". If you click on the words "some HTML", it'll tell you which tags are recognized.
