Google are trustworthyish, right? Allow import of fonts through the css textarea in settings that are from fonts.googleapis.com like the below.
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Akaya+Telivigala&display=swap';);

Fonts added to the "Google Fonts" list can be used normally inside the custom CSS input field. Is this not the same as adding 'Akaya Telivigala' to the list and then using it?

Maybe I'm derping. The only fonts I could find imported on the page were.. I'm on mobile without a browser console. Where's the Google fonts list?
Gotcha. On that same page (Settings -> Advanced), right below the Custom CSS input field, there is an area for fonts. There is TypeKit ID, and also Google Fonts. For Google, there's a "+" icon to add an input field for the name of the Google font.
