As stated above, I'm looking to start an online campaign for the Planescape 3.5E material, although I am open to other D&D systems. Ideally, I'm looking for 4-5 players with some experience (preferably). I'd also like to do this via webcam or skype. I'm open to days and time, and would prefer to play "until we're done playing", but I understand that may not be possible and we'll need concrete times.
I've played D&D for years and am well-versed in almost every campaign setting, all editions, and have access to nearly every book made for the edition. I'm open to most accessories, but would prefer the more exotic things get run by me for approval first. I'm looking to run a tough, but fair game, and am not looking to butcher players. Although I will reward stupidity with death (in the sense that, if you're make stupid decisions, I will probably allow you to die to learn a lesson), but honest mistakes or bad luck will not be punished.
As for dice rolling and programs, I haven't decided yet and am open to suggestions and preferences.
If there is any interest I will be more than happy to expand and explain what I'm doing through emails. I can be reached at r_u_ok@hotmail.com and Please put in the message title that you are replying to this post. Thanks for all parties interested ahead of time.

p=. *"A light in the darkness; order amidst strife. Such is our calling."*
-- Lumanar Archoni Creed

A century ago, the unstoppable legions of the Lumanar Imperium marched triumphant through the verdant fields of Sollanis. The glorious sons of Pathoria marched, fought, triumphed against all odds to bring civilization and enlightenment to the united hill tribes, and liberation from the fist of unjust tyrants to the people of Sollanis . A period of peace and prosperity befell the nation, shielded by the aegis of the imperium.

A century later, the green pastures of Sollanis lay parched and shriveled, a windswept wasteland. The people of Sollanis huddle in crumbling cities, forgotten by the Imperium, the land withering away around them. A mad king rules from the throne, with the Imperium's supposed blessings. The nation splinters and crumbles. The people grow restless, rebellious.

The knights and exemplars from the Concord Nations, joined in common hatred of the Imperium, heckle and bark at the doorsteps of the forgotten land. Their priests preach the name of the All-Seer in the streets, promising the embrace of epiphany to all who humble themselves in obedience. Old hatreds ignite, new kinships cement. Troubles brew, conspiracies ferment.

Sollanis will be forgotten no longer. Time has come for the imperium to shepherd its charges. Pathoria has need for heroes to shape and carve the oncoming tide. Great armies stir from their slumber, shambling onto stage in their slow, peculiar dance. War looms on the horizon -- civil war, _total war_.

-*-

Pax Lumanum: Concordia is an RP-heavy 4e campaign weaving a multinational web of political intrigue with exploration and adventure. The setting is "low" magic, and the tone gritty and somber. If this is the sort of game you love, we are seeking 3 players with active and motivated characters to complete a party of 6. It will be played over Openrpg, on *Saturday* afternoons to evenings (likely 2PM through 9PM, EST). We will start on *November 12*.

To apply, visit "our Wiki":http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/pax-lumanum for information and post applications here or through PMs!

Applications will not be "first come, first serve". The party will be assembled based on how well the characters fit into the campaign.

Im a gamer of many years and several systems. I started off with Basic Dnd, 1st ed adnd, and Star Frontiers. Since then I've played all the version of DND, lots of the White Wolf games, good old d6 Star Wars from West End Games, and various other card and board games. I've been on the site for a few months and have been working on my campaigns page(http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/imperiumandwyld). This campaign have been going on a few months shy of 3 years. Started off at 1st level and have slowly made the players way to 15th. I've run in this world before in a campaign that lasted a year (before I moved from IL to the DC area).

So I would love to hear what people think about my campaign and what improvements could be made. I am quite proud of the short bits of fiction that were added to help flavor the word. search for "Tales" and they should mostly come up.

'Allo, Portaters!

So I just wanted to see if there was any interest in a play-by-post or similar game using A Song of Ice and Fire RP from Green Ronin. I've never actually run a play-by-post game before, so I don't know all of the conventions, but here are the ideas I had:

*Variations on the Setting*

* Seven Kings - the game begins 100-200 years before the Targaryens arrive in Westeros, when the Seven Kingdoms were still divided. This would probably be the most difficult to run and play, as it would require considerable additional research and extrapolation.
* Recent Past - the game begins in the recent past, probably after the War of the Ninepenny Kings, but well before Robert's Rebellion. This would be relatively easy to play, although it would still require some research.
* Default Setting - well, more or less; the game begins shortly after the dust of Robert's Rebellion has settled, but some time before the books begin.
* Possible Future - the game begins after the War of the Five Kings and the events of the books to-date. I haven't actually finished the books yet, but I read pretty quickly when I'm motivated.
* Alternate World - the game takes place in an alternate version of Westeros with no characters mentioned in the books whatsoever.

*Gameplay Conventions*

* Standard PBP - Narrator sets a scene and Players take turns posting their actions in the forums, interspersed with Narrator description, commentary, and responses. Real time length of scenes TBD. Rolls are made by the GM, with the understanding that I pull no punches (That's what Destiny Points are for).
* Other options? I'm not sure what all different methods or formats people use, but this seemed like the most straightforward to me. Let me know if something else appeals to you.

*Rules*

* Standard rules - Players work together with the Narrator's guidance to create a noble house (or allied houses), and then make characters based on that/those house(s).
* Rules-lite - We/I modify the rules to a simpler version of themselves, with the main focus being on highlighting whatever aspects of gameplay are important to the players.

*Focus*

* Default - the house and its development is important, but mostly as a catalyst for PC development and adventuring.
* Character Development - As in, the characters are important to the exclusion of the house. Characters may or may not even be members of a house - they could just be adventuring in Westeros. I'm not as interested in running a game like this, unless the thought is that it might eventually change in focus to a more Default-style game.
* Game of Thrones - The house is most important, sometimes to the exclusion of individual characters. Probably works best if players control individual houses with stables of characters. Could easily become a competitive game (like, say, Birthright).

So...anyone interested?

The party is currently exploring a "starter dungeon" to give them experience working with each other, and to work out some game mechanics. The campaign setting to be played will be a collaboration between myself and the players. I plan on doing the campaign as a series of "seasons" with each season running between 4-10 sessions each. I'd say I'd bring snacks/beer, but I don't think I can shove those through my mic.

Hi, I'm a 25 year old guy who just moved out to Palo Alto CA from Ohio, and I'm trying to find a campaign to join. I'm willing to play just about any system (D&D 4e is an exception, I won't touch it), and I much prefer actual RPing to random dungeon crawling... but I don't mind combat in a game. I just prefer there to be a point to the combat.

I am familiar with AD&D 1st and 2nd editions, D&D 3.0 and 3.5, Old World of Darkness and New World of Darkness, GURPS, Mutants and Masterminds, and several other obscure systems. Anything else, and I'll have to learn, though I am happy to do so.

So, if you are looking for a player in the bay area... please contact me at ddayton@ameritech.net and I'll get back to you within the hour. I'm desperate to find a game out here!

Greetings, I am John. I have several years of running games in person and online. I have GMed many different gaming system. I have been trying to find players for a DnD 4e custom campaign online using the Battlegrounds virtual tabletop. The players would not need to buy a license as I would have the floating license available and the demo is all that is needed by players. Unfortunately, finding players online has been very difficult for me. If anyone can offer any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Obsidian Portal would be used as a communication point between games with skype or other Voip program during games. I am providing a link to my planned campaign, if I get any interested players.
Again, I appreciate any suggestions of communicating an available game for players.

Hey folks, been a while since I've used OP, and I'm jumping back into things. It seems like I have a 10-game curse before my games evaporate. I'm hoping to break this! That being said, here's my latest campaign, a tongue-in-cheek run through Gamma World (4e). Would love to get any of your thoughts on it, and, as always, suggestions. Gimme gimme NPCs/locations/ideas.

Clearly I'm too lazy. Damn. (Edit, to add link to campaign in question).
I'm not necessarily looking to join a campaign at the moment, just looking to network and such. I've been here on OP for a while, you can check out my campaigns and my project Gaming Music, the links are on my profile page.

I am recruiting a couple of new players for my campaign.

We have added at least one new player every year to our campaign and I am looking for this years new faces. We currently have a balanced number of women and men in the game and I am receptive to couples or pairs of players. No previous roleplay experience is required.

We have an internet based game that I run through KloOge. I have purchased the licenses so there is no cost to the players.

We meet on Fridays from 7-11 EST

We are a long running campaign that has meet weekly for more than 18+ years with the last 8 online.

Our website is: www.dragonslayers-society.org and I can be contacted through the OP here or through www.robertanstett.com

New characters as NPCs will be created for potential players to test drive and if accepted into the campaign can be converted to PC or new characters can be created. We have a full set of rules on how new players come in at an appropriate level to existing characters.

I run the campaign under what I call AD&D 2.mine but roleplaying is more important than rule sets.

A YEAR AGO I POSTED...

"I've been far too busy to enjoy the game as I once had; several campaigns intermingling, several nights a week, conventions, the whole shabang! Adulthood hasn't been kind to giving me time for my hobby.

That said, I am looking to host a table top game within the genre of D20: 3e, 3.5e, & Pathfinder. I have faith that a committed group of solid players can meet once a month to get in some serious gaming and be sated (hopefully). I have my own place in Tustin (with the Mrs), without parking issues, children, or similar issues."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've had a successful Monthly gaming group for the past year which is in need of a dedicated player or two (at most). If you're interested, we're in the midst of transitioning games and are more than capable of inserting a PC into the group with little difficulty. There is presently a Campaign Building Session scheduled for 08/13 & 08/20; 9a-3p, in Tustin CA 92780 - across from the Santa Ana Zoo (I-5 & 55 Freeways).
BIWEEKLY WEEKNIGHT GAMING
I am similarly on the market for a group of players interested in a new group. I'm fond of the Call of Cthulhu feel (Far Realms, yay!), but prefer the mechanics of D&D, be it 1e through to 3.5e or Pathfinder (no 4th edition here). I've battlemat, mini's, books/PDF's, space, and ample parking. Tuesday or Thursday is most desirous though I am flexible. 6p-10p would likely be the hours of gaming, to allow for End of Business players to participate.
