Hey everyone,
I wanted let you all know that I am starting a game here at Camp Taji, Iraq. Since I retired from the Army I got a contractor job over here and still have the gamers itch. I will be posting to my adventure log http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/savagetideadventurepath about the game. Most likely my players will be service men and women stationed here. The one thing we will be short of is dice. Everything else I got covered. So if anyone can hook us up with some stuff that will be donated to the soldiers here that would be way cool.

Good evening friends. One of (the very many) reasons I haven't been able to begin the planned updates to my Star Wars: Dawn of Darkness campaign as of yet was because this past weekend I was lucky enough to be a GM in a "Great Gaming Weekend" at my hometown university, where over the course of two days about a dozen GM's ran one shot adventures open to friends and strangers alike for the purpose of expanding the local ranks of gamers :).

It was a complete success, and plans are already underway for yet another such weekend. My question is, would it be appropriate to set up a campaign page for one of these one shot adventures? If I were to do it it would be for the purposes of sharing characters and what not with others so that other GM's might run a similar one shot or borrow the characters for their own adventures. Is this already done here on OP or is this sort of thing taboo?

Any feedback or thoughts would be most welcome indeed!

Hi all,

With the new year I decided to really try and formalize my long-planned Middle Isles Campaign. The system's changed a couple of times, as has the start date, but our group's finally read for this game in 2011.

I've worked on backgrounds, using Creative Commons and Public Domain images to liven it up. I've garnered a lot of inspiration from other sites here on just making things look nicer. I don't have the technical know-how that a lot of you guys have, and am frankly in awe of your abilities. But I hope it's servicable, easy to navigate, and works for my campaign.

*To-Do List*

-Change system to OpenQuest once its added by OP
-Standardize background parchment image for all pages
-Finish character (NPC) list
-Complete wiki entries for deities, locations, and people
-Add combat example page
-Finish adding artwork where needed
-Think about adding a YouTube intro on the front page

Anyhow, I thought I'd put it up for your review here:

About me: 38, have been playing and running various games for over 20 years. Not only table top but LARPs as well. Great attention to detail and combat. Pretty damn creative.

I am looking for 3 to 5 player for a home brew campaign. I would prefer players to be mature, ahem, over 21+.

About the game: I will be using the Pathfinder system. I run the game more as a story teller than a DM. The world is my own. I do not in general force players into "modules" rather prefer them getting into trouble on their own. I set the stage, do a phenomenal job playing multiple NPC for all to interact with. The game is about playing roles/personalities of your characters. Which means that what you create should at least have a personality. I keep very tight reins on Magic Use. Starting alignment is irrelevant, I can make anything jive. PCs should not be afraid of having characters killed. It happens, deal with it. Its a game.

The game will consist of only about 40% combat. The rest will be investigations, and PC and NPC interactions. If you are interested and want to pre-make a character you start with 83 points for your attributes. Attributes can not exceed racial max. Attributes can not exceed -2 bonus. If you prefer to roll them wait for the first session.

World primary races, that is races that are everywhere, are human, elves and half elves. That is not to say that others do not exist but that will be the area were you start from.

I have veto power on all game rules and character possessions/creation. Start at 1st level and we will re-scale at the beginning of first session.

We now have 3 players and would like 2 more. The game will run once (1) per month on a weekend. We are generating characters and backgrounds at this time. I am not sure about location but I think we can find some place in the Manhattan where no one will mind.

Thanks,

A while ago I was cleaning out a closet and found an old book. It inspired me to try something on OP here and after a couple days I realized it was gonna be a really big project. I recruited help. It's a bigger still project than thought, and has so much potential that after a month of thinking, planning and thought, we've decided to make it public and try to grab some volunteers to test, add to and develop this project more fully.

It's called RONIN, and is set in the Shadowrun universe. It's the story of a man who seems to have some pretty rotten luck.

Our goal is to flesh out some story arcs and at least 4-6 endings.

I am currently running a forum based game (Pathfinder rules, based in 198 BC Tarentum in the Roman Republic) and I am considering running another. I would like some advice and input on some varied aspects of the game, if you have done this.
- what do you use for mapping software? (I am using Dunjinni and Gimp)
- what do you use to host the maps (and other stuff like documents)? (I am using Obsidian Portal for most of this at the moment)
- how did you find players? (I used friends but am considering just advertising here)
- did you have a requirement that people post every so often? What if they did not? Alas, Real Life does get in the way of gaming.

Thank you for your responses

Someone gave me a TI-83 calculator, and I vaguely remember my High School years (don't do drugs kids) and having one of these. I had a program on it that allowed use as a die roller and HP tracker. Now that I have this I would like to use it for that function again. I can find compiled programs online for it, but as with many things secondhand, I don't have the data cable that I need to transfer them on there, so I need to find a place for source codes. I don't need much, just a die roller would do for now, but I can't find the stinking code anywhere.

Anyone have one or know where to find the code so I can type it in manually?
