Is there a way to set up the campaign so that anytime someone makes and update I, as GM, will get notice in a twitter post under my name? Email notification is fine but when you get dozens of emails it is easier to ignore them. With a twitter posting It would make me look as the message came in and would advertise the changes to my many followers. This is a win win for me and OP as it may drive more people to check out OP that might have missed it otherwise.

Many apps on facebook offer a popup with a list of all of your friends that you can click to send something silly like a gift. I would love to see something like this where you can pull up every character or every item. Then with a click, inserts all those checked into you wiki page. It would greatly speed up creating wiki's with links to other sections of the site. Inserting links one at a time is so time consuming when working with a data rich campaign like my own.

First of all sorry about my other post in the Site Announcements :-(

I would like to implement the idea of Evil Overlords (http://www.treasuretables.org/files/Evil-Overlords-TT006free.pdf) in my campaign. I have three friends who live out of state and I use to game with. They are willing to take on three factions in my campaign world to help give it a more 'real life' feel to it by injecting 'reasoned randomness' into the campaign.

I want them to update information on my portal to cover what their factions do. So what kind of information would be part of an organization:
1. Organization Name
2. Public information
2a. History
2b. Current events
3. Private area for the player to record hidden information about the organization
3a. History
3b. Upcoming events
3c. Links to characters associated with the organization (public & private members of the organization)
3d. Assets of the group (money, followers, equipment)
4. GM area

The way this would work is my friends would publish once or twice a month both the public and private events going on with their organization. As for my table-top group all they would know is there are things going on around the 'campaign world' that may or may not involve them.

The closest way I can see to implement it with the current tools is using Characters. But my friends can't create private wiki pages that are linked from the private area of a Character. Or can they?

There are a couple things with the Character Tab that have bugged me for a little while now and I was wondering if its the kind of thing we'll ever see.

First, when I sort by a Tag all the other Tags vanish from the list. If, for example, I wanted to see at a glance all the Elves in my game the list would come back but any tags that indicate their class wouldn't show.

Second, I was wondering if it's possible to allow some sort of sort by tag feature. So I could tell the tab my priority and it would sort my list with headers by the selected tag. For example, I could select Elves, Dwarves, and Gnomes and any NPC tagged with those tags would get a header section (similar to the current Player Characters and NPCs headers) while everyone not selected would just be listed under the NPCs header.

Lastly, there is a decent amount of white space in the character tab section. Any thoughts to dropping either the Quick Description or the first part of another section on the tab list as a bit of a character excerpt? That way I could see my notes at a glance too.

This is all little things that would make my life, in a game with 70 characters and growing, so much easier.

I'd love to see a dead status for characters - PC or NPC. I'm running a Dark Sun game with a very high PC death rate (surprise, surprise) and the party list is going to be changing a lot over time. I don't really want to move these characters to the NPC section, because they're not NPCs, but I also don't want them showing up in the party list in the sidebar, because they're not really still in the party either. However, it's relevant to the game's history to know that they were there, and especially for NPCs, any info in their character page might be important later.

Here's what I'm envisioning:

1) Add a "Dead" checkbox on each character page
2) On the character list page, sort dead PCs to the bottom of the PC list (and dead NPCs to the bottom of the NPC list) with a [dead] tag or something similar next to their name
3) If the character was a PC, remove them from the party list in the sidebar

I have wiki pages for major organizations in my world on my site. Currently when I add a new character, I add the character, then go to the wiki page for the organization(s) the character belongs to and insert a link to the character in a list of other character's associated with that organization. I'm imperfect at this, so it would be nice if I could enter some code in the wiki page and a miniature copy of the character page would be rendered.

So if I type:

In the character list, each character has a thumbnail, his name and a list of tags. It would be nice if the name line could show the first n characters of the quick description so the characters have a little more context than what is given by tags.

What does it look like:
Something like the below, replacing the IMG wih the actual image of course.

IMG Rachel Stone - Magic supplier in Niagra Falls
IMG mage, niagra falls, merchent
The other option would be to allow the GM to define the temlate for the characer, but that would be a much larger UI challenge.

Straight to the point:

What I was thinking:

I enjoy the character page, but wish I could move the boxes around or add more. In other words, "Description", "Biography," and "GM Info" are great and all, but being able to remove Biography, change its name, or move it above Description would be useful. Being able to add additional boxes would be useful as well, since I keep track of my character's stats and would like a statistics box. Sure, I can make a work around, but perhaps others are not as savvy.

The implementation doesn't seem too difficult: You keep the original three boxes, but have three more boxes that start off as "closed," being acivated by checking a checkbox. In addition to a text field, each box could have a title box and perhaps a tagline box attached to it. Then, perhaps in the sidebar or at the bottom of the page could be an area where you determine the order they appear in. It could be something difficult like dragging the titles above or below each other, simpler like "move up" and "move down" buttons, or even typing numbers next to each title to determine the order. Whatever the case, it would make things simpler and/or more attractive if used well. Its not super important, but I thought it would be a neat feature.

So for my feature request: Pages that look different when they're GM-Only.

*What does it do?*

It's very simple: there is a way for me as a GM of a campaign to notice that a page or an Adventure post is currently "GM-Only".

*What does it look like?*

Doesn't matter much, as long as it's clearly visible. It can be a slightly different background color, a little icon "GM-Only!" right next to the page/log title, or anything else for that matter.
Give each campaign the ability to set CSS styles for elements like: body, p, h1-h6, a, div, etc.

Setting a style for a DIV is *not* good enough - I want the wiki page titles, for instance, to be in the font I specify.

Times New Roman is a very unattractive font.
Thanks.

It'd be great if we could create custom folders in our private message inboxes. I'm certain I'm not the only one involved in multiple campaigns, and after a while the pile of emails in the inbox and Sent boxes can get tricky to dig through. It'd become vastly simpler if I could put all the messages related to a particular campaign into its own folder (even better if Sent and Received messages in the same subject were displayed as threaded in this folder).

I did a search and didn't find this particular request so here it goes...
I am planning on doing a play-by-post game and figured that I may as well use my campaign forum, instead of posting somewhere else. Its waaay to convenient.

So I figured it would be nice to have one in the campaign forums as well. Anyone agree?

Thanks,

My team has been discussing OP and we would like to sees a pop up menu that would show all links that have player secrets. In our campaign we have over 100 npc's listed and growing and keeping track of all the player secrets and interaction on OP is difficult. A tab that would be visible only to the player in question would be awesome.

In most other wikis, there's a special page to list all the pages that are pointed to but that no one has created yet. Something like that would be incredibly beneficial so that we don't have to comb through all the adventure logs and wiki pages to find the things we swore we'd detail later. Ahem.

Maybe a link or list in the campaign settings? Or at the bottom of the "show all pages" page? Or does this already exist and I just don't know where it is?

Micah has "suggested":http://forums.obsidianportal.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=184&page=1 a way to use OP to indicate players' availability, but that's a somewhat cumbersome solution, and doesn't tell who is available when. Polls on Yahoo Groups are a better way, but they're still not that great for this use, and once closed, players can't change their answers.

I would love to see an aspect of the Calendar feature that allows players to indicate when, on a typical week, they are available to game. This would save me a lot of headaches.
