Howdy folks. I've been fiddling around with the Nav Menu some more and I've got a bit of an issue I'm trying to resolve for a while.

My site technically contains 3 campaigns (Arilon, Hairen, Haven), and I added some custom nav items for each of them. When I'm on the landing page for each campaign they are flagged correctly as the active page and the corresponding nav menu entry is highlighted:

However, whenever I go to a different wiki pag that isn't part of the nav menu, it defaults to my Heroes page (/wikis/main-page) as the default active page.

So, is there a way to specify the current active target for a page? I whipped up some css that allows me to target nav menu entries and highlight them based on how the pages are tagged, so the text for Arilon highlights any time you're on a page tagged for that campaign, etc. I'd love a way to be able to set the Active Flagging for the nav menu based on the page tags, if possible.

I tested a bunch of different things in the custom nav menu using active-target for each entry hoping to find a way to influence how it is flagging them, to no avail. It just seems to switch the wiki home-page as the default active target any time I'm on a wiki page that isn't directly linked into the nav menu. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions to this, I'd love to hear them.

Hello
I apologise if this has been asked several times already but my attempts to search the forum came up with zero results so I thought I should try asking.

I have been recently trying to produce image formatting that is used in most other wiki's (that being the whole box with the picture shrunk to fit complete with caption and direct link to enlarged picture, similar to how wikipedia formats its pictures) but my attempts with implementing it using html have been varied.
I had some success in making a cell and filling it with the picture and caption but it required way too much work to be viable (as the picture, cell and caption had to be measured in pixels and adjusted repeatedly till it all lined up, and even then it was quite haphazard.

I was therefore wondering if anyone has had any luck in producing enclosed image boxes and could give some pointers in how to produce them.
Thank you

Public Campaign Forum Topics Beta Information

Hey guys,

Making a quick post to let folks know about a feature update currently in the beta stages. We've added the option to make campaign forum topics visible to the general public. This can be really good for play by post campaigns, letting users have journal entries outside of the adventure log, bluebooking, keeping meta information publicly visible but separate from the wiki, and so on. It's another way for you to make use of your campaign forum. Since it involves the campaign forum, this does require an Ascendant subscription, so be aware.

To publicize a post, one need only check the visibility checkbox and then save the topic. Publicly visible posts will display a "[PUBLIC]" label in front of the post's title.

At present, this is being tested on a "by request" format. If you'd like to be able to test this out, please post here or send me a PM and I'll have you added to the beta tester's list. In terms of seeing it from the public perspective, you can check out the To Buy a Fat Pig campaign. This is a play by post game that Jynx001 and I are playing which is being run by our good friend thaen.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll check our game out and give this feature a try.

EDIT:

Please be aware that the Forum tab which is displayed when you elect to have public forum topics is NOT the default Forum tab, but a different tab with viewing permissions situated for viewers not associated with the campaign that is also lapeled as Forum. This means that if you have custom CSS to style your tabs, you will need to style both the normal "Forum" tab (class name forum), and also the public "Forum" tab (class name public-forum). You'll need to keep a close eye on your classes, particularly if/when you are styling the dashboard version of the navigation as well as the campaign facing navigation.

Campaign Colors - Links

There's a new Campaign Color option on the Campaign Settings > Style tab called "Links".

This sets the color of the links in the body of the Campaign like in the Wiki Pages, Adventure Logs, Characters, and Items.

If you have ever Saved your Campaign Settings in the past, then your "Links" color matches your Campaign Colors "Main" color, which is what the default color of the links used to be. So, you shouldn't notice any difference, except for the new "Link" color selector in your Campaign Settings. If you added Custom CSS to override the color of the links, then that will still be in place.

For the default Campaign Background, the default color was a gold color that was hard to read against a white background color. So, if you haven't ever Saved your Campaign Settings, then your links are now the new default blue color that's much easier on the eyes (at least easier on my eyes).

That blue color is the default color for all of the Backgrounds. So, if you click "Reset to suggested colors", the Links will change to this blue color. Again, if you want back what you had in the past, and you were using the previous default, then just set the Links to the same suggested color as the Main color.

If you would prefer a different color for Links, feel free to change it to whatever you like.

Let us know if you see any issues!

I'm beta testing a new feature on OP right now called Custom JavaScript. If you're interested in testing this feature out in your Campaigns, comment here or message me, and I'll add you to the beta.

The gist is that you can add any JavaScript you want to your Campaign. The only catch is that visitors have to explicitly agree to allow that JavaScript to run on their computers. But they only have to agree once for a given computer. (If there's no Custom JavaScript on the Campaign, then they won't be prompted to allow it to run.)

There are often features requested that are important to one OP member, but not important to most other OP members, and so the feature likely won't get dev time any time soon. Or the feature would be so little used by other members that it would effectively be clutter to add it to the UI for all members. But now, many of those features can be implemented for/by that member on their own Campaign using Custom JavaScript. (If you have questions on how to implement a particular feature in JavaScript, feel free to ask here in the Community Forums and we can help you figure it out.)

Here's the help page for the Custom JavaScript feature:

Along with this feature, I also added a couple new utility pages to the Campaigns to make it easier to view/share Custom CSS and Custom JavaScript. (These are not beta ... they will work on all Campaigns right now.)

If you want to see the Custom CSS for a given Campaign, go to that Campaign, and then append "/custom_css" at the end, like so:

https://tobuyafatpig.obsidianportal.com/custom_css

Similarly, if you want to see the Custom JavaScript for a given Campaign, append "/custom_js", like so:

https://tobuyafatpig.obsidianportal.com/custom_js

(Fat Pig doesn't have any Custom CSS or Custom JavaScript, and those pages will tell you that.)

I'm very much looking forward to what y'all build with these new tools.

I'm running a campaign where characters use multiple parallel character sheets (Mutants & Masterminds, where a character can exist at multiple PLs). I'd like to insert some HTML so I can have some radio buttons to select a PL and have the page display that sheet, rather than have the whole page be an accordion. Is this possible?

This is a real long shot but in our campaign, we have decided to rename, and standardise the names/spellings of a few locations and, indeed, the world itself.

The problem is that changing every single instance of the original words would mean searching for the old words and then editing the pages that are found to replace the old names wih the new names. This would mean editing pages several hundred times.

For the most part, the names are a direct substitute that don't cause grammar or formatting problems or similar. So, what would be ideal if there was some automated way that it could happen - like if I could run a script or something. I'm going to guess that this simply isn't a thing that can be done but if anyone has any ideas about how to achieve it, I'd gladly hear them.

Thanks.

I want to have the name of a place be the link, but have the page it sends you to be a different page.

My example is:

The island set within the [[emerald seas]]

But have the link be to a different page called Seas listing the different ones and their info.

Is this a thing? If so how do I do it?

I know it's getting applied, because the heading centers, but the font never shows up. I added it under the google fonts section as well. Hoping someone knows what's going wrong here

Hello, All!

I have been away for awhile - Real Life came, and I had a VERY bad time for awhile. But it's all in the past, and I'm starting up my Cyberpunk RED game again this summer. That means going back to work on my site.

Unfortunately, I'm missing the font that I used on the images for my links. I've looked for weeks, and haven't been able to find it. It sounds like a small thing, but changing the look of all future assets seems like it will make the portal look haphazard and disjointed.

I was wondering if anyone could help me? If you know of the font's name? I know that I got it for free, but I would be willing to pay for it.

Below are some samples from my portal that show the font in action. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Thanks again!

Hey folks,

Been away from OP for a while, so trying out some features that are new to me (and I'm a bit rusty, so rediscovering stuff).

Playing with the carousel, placing hyperlinks on the individual images seems to work as normal, it's just a bit tedious to do for each image (depending on how many images are in that carousel). Similarly, I'd like to do some custom hover effects for each carousel, but the only thing that comes to mind is to create a custom HTML container around the carousel and apply inline CSS to it.

I'm curious has the syntax to manipulate the carousel container directly in the editor, rather than all the individual component images, or creating a parent element with HTML?
