Minor NPCs are wiki pages for me due to this linking problem. The only way to link NPC pages is with the log winded url reference. But it’s nice to have the NPC pages displaying there portraits so I’ve still been using it for the main NPCs.

Couldn’t you put it to the right of the name, there seems to be a lot of white space to the right of the characters in the list view. That why you wouldn’t need to shrink anything.

Doesn’t look like the front page is updating either as I updated Savage Tide a lot longer than 3 hours ago. I guess one of the servers (the one that updates stuff, rather than the one with the current data) has gone down.

I keep getting this error when I try to update a Adventure Log, or Wiki page.

I’m using the most recent version of Firefox.

I agree with FemmeLegion. I often edit a entry in GM Only mod over several days, and then uncheck GM Only and notify my players. Having user select but the default to NOT notify would be a great idea.

I currently link offsite and store pdf’s and the like at http://www.yuntaa.com/ or pick your own storage space provider. I don’t think Obsidian Portal wants to get the extra bandwidth that pdf’s and the like would create, but I guess it might be an idea to offer it as a subscriber option.

Use the format

I’ve used it here http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/savage-tide/wiki/campaign-web/the-sea-wyvern so that when you click on the image of the sea wyvern it links to a larger version offsite, but you could have the link go to an internal wiki page.

Using it for buttons is a clever idea, I might have to try that myself.

Anyone else have an opinion on this? I’ve noticed some people rather than using the adventure log to directly contain the page they set up wiki pages with the full text, and have stubs in the log as a work around. I’m finding displaying the full text from 10 entries is too many for me.

Double square brackets round the text. [[Wiki page name]] alternatively [[Wiki page name | what you want to appear]] both of those will create a page called “Wiki page name” but one will show “what you want to appear” in the text.

It’s all there on the right of the screen when editing a wiki page.

You can write up pages in advance, with the GM Only tag on, putting information you want to be public at the future date in the Public section, and information you want GM only in that section, but until you untick the GM Only box only you can see it. Then when you do untick it, you don’t have to edit the page for the players to see what you want.

When the patch came any page that shared the same name in the DM and player wiki, the DM page information went into the GM only section of the public page. If the page had no identical name in the player wiki, then it all went into the Public section of the wiki page, but the page was set GM Only, so no one could see stuff.

Can I ask why? I personally would be more bothered about the player across the table knowing certain details of my characters, than a complete stranger. One could act on OOC knowledge IC, the other couldn’t do anything with that information.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Hmm this really should have been in Bug Reports I guess.

You could probably cheat using the footnotes feature of the wiki. But yes within page links would be nice.

The GM only section on Adventure Logs would be handy to note what key NPCs might be doing off camera. So you know what they get up while the PCs are doing what appears in the log. Or for noting unforeseen (at least by the PCs) consequences of the players actions.
